Dreamweaver CS3 “Initializing” Problem in Windows Vista Home Premium

I was really disappointed that I can’t use Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Acer computer, Aspire 6920G. I have just bought it a month ago. I installed Dreamweaver CS3 and the installation steps went fine. When the installation is finished, I started the program, the splash screen appeared. It showed “initializing files” and that’s the end. Dreamweaver CS3 splash screen disappeared and the program stopped. I reinstalled the software again and again but came up with the same problem.

It’s been a week to find out what’s the problem. I searched on the internet everyday and nothing could solve the problem. I tried every troubleshooting steps – opening Dreamweaver on Selective Startup Mode, turning off all antivirus software and so on. At first, I was thinking that it could be a Vista problem though CS3 software are developed for Vista Versions. But I found this site that solve my problem.

One Acer software called “Acer E-Data Security Management” was giving me that kind of problem. The solution is very simple. Just uninstall that software and I can open my Dreamweaver CS3 without any problem. Perfect! I am wondering what that stupid program is for. It is really annoying. Acer should fix this problem for future.

Update: If you still want to use E-Data Security, you can try this patch. Thanks Mazin for this patch.
